About The Natural Puppy
Welcome fellow pet parents and pups to The Natural Puppy! At The Natural Puppy, we are not professionals, just loving pet parents who spend a lot of time seeking out the best for their dogs, and we’ve created this site to share information we’ve found with others. The Natural Puppy will mainly focus on our dogs, Bella and Duke, but we may have guest posters from time to time. We take a holistic approach to dog care and are looking forward to sharing all that we’ve learned and are learning here at The Natural Puppy so please check back often!
What information do we feature on The Natural Puppy?
The Natural Puppy focuses on homemade dog food recipes, reviews of natural dog toys and products, and general information related to owning a dog. Information found here is a combination of internet research, reading books, talks with professionals, and personal experience. Since I am not a veterinarian, I recommend that you consult your own vet before making any changes to your dog’s lifestyle, as each dog is unique. What’s best for my dogs may not be what’s best for yours. While this website will focus on natural dog care, I also love to share fun things that I think fellow dog owners will enjoy.
If you’re looking for information on a specific topic or have something fun to share, please write us at email@example.com.
What does holistic dog care mean?
Holistic means that a being is treated as a whole, rather than focusing on one part. Physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and environmental aspects are all considered contributors to well-being. At The Natural Puppy, we take a holistic approach to dog care, because holistic dog care means that all parts of your dog are treated when caring for them.
What kind of dog do you have?
The Natural Puppy is mainly about natural dog care of our dogs, Bella and Duke. Bella was a rescue so we don’t know exactly which breed she is. She came to the animal shelter with a sister-puppy and both were adopted out as Lab mixes at 3 months old. Now that she’s fully grown, we believe her to be a Golden Retriever mixed with something tall and slim, such as a hound breed. Her coat is similar to a Golden Retriever or Duck Tolling Retriever, but she is tall with a narrow waist, suggesting she is a mixed breed. She is a little over 90 pounds, making her a large breed dog. Duke is also a rescue and a mutt. He had genetic testing done and his results came back as American Staffordshire, American Bulldog, Bullmastiff, and Belgian Malnois. He’s about 70lbs and probably has a little more growing to do, making him a large breed dog as well. We’ll also talk about other dogs we’ve had in the past, like our Pitbull x Rottweiler mix, Apollo, who passed away or dogs owned by our family and friends.
Why did you start The Natural Puppy?
The idea for The Natural Puppy began when we decided to switch our puppy to a more natural, healthier diet. We did lots of research as to the best type of food and thought it’d be helpful to share it with others. So, we started this website, but then got distracted by life. Since that time, we’ve done our best to make sure our dogs have had the best life we can offer them. With a puppy in the house again, we thought it’d be the perfect time to start this blog up again. We’ve compiled all the information we’ve gathered over our years as dog owners and are going to do the best to share that information with you!
